Something to Watch - True Romance
This is, by far, one of the strangest aspirational films you’ll ever seen. Directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun) and written by Tarantino (all your favorite movies), it follows Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette on the road from Detroit to LA to start a new life. What follows is a wild series of events that proves that the power of love is stronger than anyone with a gun.
It’s a movie made up of incredible scenes with amazing actors saying insane things that you just can’t believe is happening that you also never want to end. There’s violence. Lots of it. But there’s also a score by Hans Zimmer that sort of sounds like it was taken from The Little Mermaid so you can’t help but smile. This one’s a classic, and if you haven’t seen it, what a joy it will be to watch for the first time.
Something to Listen to
Country? Folk? Both? Call it what you want. It’s good.
Something to Think About
Contrary to popular belief, the term 420 never originated because it was the police code used for marijuana possession. It was just simply the time that high school kids would gather after getting out of school to get baked. And this is true. The guy who owns the beef jerky store near my house said so.
